10 - Shreeji Maharaj Responded To The Prayer

As usual Narayan was having Darshan in the temple. At that time Dr. Manilalbhai from Wadhwan sat down next to Narayan. Narayan greeted him with, ‘Jai Swaminarayan.’ The doctor asked, ‘Narayan, God talks to you, isn’t it?’ Narayan replied, ‘Who told you?’ Doctor informed, ‘Whole town knows about it!’ Narayan kept quiet. Doctor requested, ‘Narayan would you pray for me to God?’ Narayan replied, ‘Certainly.’ Doctor said, ‘Please pray to God to bless me with His divine and eternal Darshan.’ Narayan replied, ‘How can I say that?’ Doctor insisted, ‘Narayan, you are the most favourite Mukta of Maharaj. If you request Him, He will certainly respond.’ Narayan said, ‘Let me try.’ Narayan closed his eyes. He withdrew all his senses inwards and asked Maharaj. After a few minutes, he opened his eyes. Doctor asked eagerly, ¬‘What did He say? When would He bless me with His Darshan?’ Narayan told slowly, ‘Maharaj is refusing!’ The doctor was sad. He prayed to Narayan with his voice choked with emotions, ‘Narayan, please pray to God once again. Please, make me have His Darshan through your prowess. Please, pray to God once again and try to please Him.’ Doctor requested Narayan again and again. Again Narayan withdrew his senses inwards. Maharaj asked, ‘Narayan, what is the matter? Why are you praying again?’ Narayan replied, ‘Maharaj! He is desperate for Your Darshan. Have mercy on him.’ Maharaj replied, ‘All right, Narayan, I have accepted your prayer. Make him sit in front of the idol after Shayan Aarti.’ Narayan informed this to Dr. Manilalbhai. Doctor was full of joy. At night, as soon as the Aarti was over, he sat down in front of the idol. Slowly everyone left the temple. Narayan, doctor and Swami remained in the temple. Doctor gazed at the idol of Maharaj eagerly. Maharaj lifted His left hand a little bit. He gestured slowly.

Manilalbhai was full of joy by such gesture. He lifted Narayan on his, shoulders and began to dance. ‘Today, I am the luckiest one. I am the most fortunate one.’ He repeated it and continued dancing.

After a while, he took Narayan down and bowed down to him. He spoke with gratitude, ‘Narayan, through your prowess and prayer, I had the Darshan of Maharaj. You are great! Thank you Narayan! Thank you once again. You are really favourite of Maharaj. You are great Narayan!’
