49 - Cured the Illness

Once a child came to Mama. He was panting badly. He bowed down to Mama and sat down. Mama asked, ‘Why are you panting so badly?’ The child replied, ‘I have some problem in my heart. Therefore, I am not able to walk long distance. I can not run at all. I keep watching all the kids when they are playing.’ As if the child wanted to tell everything to Mama, he spoke, ‘Mama, Mummy does not give me so many things to eat. She says that I would start wheezing and she would have to take me to the doctor - I feel like eating tasty food.'

Mama said, ‘So sad! This is big trouble for a small child like you. Do you take medicines?’ The child replied, ‘When I grow up, they will operate on me.’ Mama thought, ‘Till he grows up, does he have to remain like this? When he grows up, what is he going to play? At this age children are enthusiastic to play. They enjoy eating good food. This is not fair.' Mama felt very sad in his heart. He felt a great pity on the child. Mama stood in front of God for a while. Then he went to the child. He closed his eyes and rubbed his hand on the heart of the child. He chanted the name of God. He kept his hands on the child’s head and blessed him. He put on a Kumkum dot on the child’s forehead and told, ‘Go. Now you can play as much as you want.’ The child asked, ‘Can I play all those games, which other children play?’ Mama consented, ‘Yes, you can play whatever game you like.’ The child asked, ‘Can I play catch ‘n’ catch also?’ Mama replied, ‘Yes, you can run as long as you want. Nothing will happen to you.’ The child had true affection for Mama. He had faith and belief in Mama’s words. He was delighted. He spoke to Mama, ‘Mama, please say that I could eat whatever I want to eat.’ Mama laughed and said, ‘Yes, you can eat whatever you like.’ The child asked, ‘If I eat whatever I like wouldn’t I get wheezing? Wouldn’t I start coughing? Wouldn’t I have to rush to a doctor?’ Mama assured him, ‘No, not at all. Nothing will happen to you.’

The child was clapping and jumping. He asked once again to confirm, So can I go home and have ice cream?’ Mama carressed his head and replied, ‘You can eat everything. Never forget that God has cured your disease.’ The child said, ‘You have cured my disease. You had rubbed your hand.’ Mama said, ‘I prayed to God and God has cured your disease. Therefore, never forget God. You must always remember God while doing any activity.’ The child promised. ¬‘I will certainly follow it. I will never forget God.’ The child bowed down to Mama and went back home. He told everyone at home. The father of the child went to see Mama. Before he could say anything, Mama said, ‘Today Maharaj has blessed the child. He felt pity, seeing your child suffering and Maharaj cured him.’ Father of the child fell down at the feet of Mama with deep reverence.
