30 - Wish Fulfillment

Chhapaiya is the birthplace of Shreeji Maharaj. Bhaishri went to Chhapaiya with a group of pilgrims. Premjibhai used to serve Bhaishri.

One day it rained in Chhapaiya. Premjibhai observed, ‘Bapa! What a beautiful rain!’ Bhaishri agreed, ‘Atmosphere has become pleasant due to rain.’ Premjibhai was curious, ‘Bapa, In Kutchh also may be it is raining!’ Bhaishri denied, ‘It is not raining in Kutchh and it is not going to rain.’

Premjibhai asked, ‘Bapa, What does that mean?’ Bhaishri clarified, ‘This year there would be famine in Kutchh.’ Premjibhai did not speak a single word. At night, Premjibhai was awake. He was thinking, ‘How would my sons know that there is going to be famine this year? If I were there I would have informed them to look after the field properly.’

Bhaishri perceived the thoughts going on in Premjibhai’s mind. Bhaishri adviced, ‘Premji, Don’t think too much. Go to sleep.’ Premjibhai was embarassed, ‘Bapa, you found out about the thoughts going on in my mind! All right, I will not think now. I will obey God’s will.’

Bhaishri called out, ‘Premji, wake up! I want to go for a bath.’ Premjibhai tried to explain, ‘Bapa, doors of temple are locked.’ Bhaishri said, ‘Doesn’t matter close your eyes.’ Premjibhai closed his eyes. After a few moments Bhaishri asked, ‘Premji, open your eyes.’ Premjibhai opened his eyes. He was astonished.

He exclaimed, ‘Are! Bapa! What a miracle? We are standing next to Narayan Sarovar!’ Bhaishri was laughing. Bhaishri called him, ‘Premji, sit here. There is a fresh breeze.’ Premjibhai was so amazed that he sat down without speaking a single word.

That very moment, they heard the sound, ‘H...u...m.... H...u...m...’ Premjibhai looked around. He couldn’t see anything. He asked Bhaishri, ‘Bapa, what is this sound?’

Bhaishri said smilingly, ‘You will find out soon.’ And lo! There arrived a plane! Premjibhai was dazzled. Bhaishri called him, ‘Premji! Son! Come and get up on the plane.’

Premjibhai couldn’t comprehend, he was flabbergasted! He quietly sat down next to Bhaishri. The plane took off. In a shortwhile, they reached Vrishpur.

They stopped by Premjibhai’s orchard. Premjibhai’s sons were sleeping. Bhaishri woke them up. Bhaishri inquired, ‘Why are you sleeping? Why don’t you look after the orchard?’ Premjibhai’s son bowed down to Bhaishri.

He thought that he had been dreaming. He promised Bhaishri, ‘Yes Bapa. Now I will not sleep. I will look after the orchard.’ Bhaishri clarified, ‘Son! This is not a dream. We have come all the way from Chhapaiya to inform you that this year there is going to be famine.

Son asked, ‘Bapa, is there going to be famine?’ Bhaishri confirmed, ‘Yes. Please sow the seeds in the fields, but not in the orchard.’

Son assured, ‘Yes Bapa.’ Bhaishri took leave, ‘That’s all. We had come to inform this.’ Bhaishri and Premjibhai got up on the plane.

Son did not have a single clue about the happenings. But he was certain that Bapa had warned him. So he had to follow his instructions. The plane took off and stoped at Narayan Sarovar. Bhaishri and Premjibhai got down. Immediately, the plane disappeared. Premjibhai had been observing silently.

He looked at Bhaishri one moment and the next moment he looked at the place where plane was standing. Bhaishri asked, ‘what is it Premji?’ Premjibhai stuttered, ‘Bapa, These... All these...’

Bhaishri asked lovingly, ‘Premji your wish has been fulfilled, isn’t it?’ Premjibhai affirmed, ‘Yes Bapa, but all these....’

Premjibhai had a number of doubts in his mind. Bhaishri suggested, ‘Premji, Let us go to temple. You go to the guest house and try to sleep.’

Premjibhai went to the guest house, but he couldn’t sleep. He kept on thinking about the miracle, performed by Bhaishri.
