33 - Compassionate Nature
As Bhaishri grew older, his affectionate Haribhaktas used to call him 'Bapashri' or 'Bapa' lovingly.
One day, Bapashri was walking towards a village Kumbhariya from Anjar. He was accompanied by saints and Haribhaktas. Bapashri was describing the glory of God.
Bapashri mentioned, ‘We should feel compassionate towards all the living beings. One day we all have to go to God’s abode. No living being is inferior.’
They were listening to the narratives while walking. Across the road, there was a hole made by a mouse. A mouse stayed in this hole. Saints and Bapashri passed by the hole. At the same time, a mouse came out of the hole. A kite was flying in the sky.
Kites like to eat mouse very much. As soon as, it noticed a mouse coming out of the hole, it attacked the mouse. But Bapashri saints and Haribhaktas reached there.
The kite was frightened of so many people. It left the mouse there and flew off. The mouse was hurt by the claws of the kite. The mouse was strugling.
Haribhaktas told Bapa, ‘Bapa, the mouse is hurt badly. It is bleeding heavily.’ Bapashri felt compassionate towards mouse. He took a pinch of dust from the ground, recited the name of God and threw it on the mouse.
Haribhaktas asked, ‘Bapa, What are you doing?’ Bapashri explained, ‘I am liberating this poor soul.’ In a short while, the mouse died. Haribhaktas inquired, ‘Bapa, the beings like mice could be liberated like this?’
Bapashri explained, ‘It had the Darshan of Saints and Mukta at the end time. It heard the name of God while dying. So it is liberated. They were all surprised.
They talked among themselves, ‘Only Bapashri can peform such wonders. Nobody else could. He has liberated even a mouse. How Marvellous! And they proceeded towards their destination while talking.
